Nanotrasen

 NanoTrasen is the company which owns the space station you inhabit.

NanoTrasen is a megacorporation which specialized in Robotics (See: Station AI) and, most importantly, the production of Phoron, of which it has a monopoly over. NanoTrasen is made up of Central Command, which leads all other branches, the NT Navy, Phoron mining stations, and the civilian stations which gameplay takes place upon.

Syndicate Interference

The Syndicate is a group of largely unrelated groups who have vested interest in the downfall of NanoTrasen, notably their Phoron monopoly (although reasons vary significantly). This group is led by Cybersun, who is NanoTrasen's biggest rival.

NanoTrasen in Appalia

Appalia is both the region of space in which gameplay takes place and the political entity which represents the Harpies, and is of extreme importance to NanoTrasen at this time. In 2851, NanoTrasen and Appalia signed the O.M.U Accord, in which NanoTrasen gained exclusive phoron mining rights within Appalia in exchange for raw ore. The group Celtek, who has unknown vested interests in the destruction of NanoTrasen, has paid the Syndicate exorbitant amounts of money to sabotage specifically the O.M.U Accord. This places NanoTrasen's status in Appalia as shaky and liable to collapse into war with Appalia if events do not align in NanoTrasen's favor.
