A letter from the Eggditor:

Hey y'all, Vivian here with a little bit of a direct message. Here is the portal to the lore for Omu that I have wrote based on our collective and emergent roleplay as a group and a server over the last two years. My hope and goal is to have a setting where anyone can make a character they can truly enjoy, and get lost in the shallows or the depths of the lore. Most importantly, know this lore is only the framework that YOU my family and friends fill in with your passion and selves. Everything here is merely a frame, and it should change and grow to fit us as we develop and mature as a group.

• Nanotrasen - You work here. They are a multigalactic megacorporation who NEED a absolute monopoly of plasma mining
• Appalia - The small, independently governed sector where Omu shifts take place, A bustling hub of multisector trade and politics
• Central Command - The team of administrative staff who keep the situation on the rails, in and out of character
• The Syndicate - The collection of many companies who do not like nanotrasen and keep doing something about it
• Unaffiliated Threats - Monsters, gribbles, and dangers you will see
• Celtek - The spooky bad guys behind the spooky bad guys they hate us and they have something to do about it

The lore in two minutes:

In the year 2851, Nanotrasen and Appalia signed The O.M.U. Accord, A ironclad agreement which gives Nanotrasen plasma mining rights within Appalia space, in exchange for Nanotrasen paying in bulk shipments of raw ore, which Appalia is in desperate need of for its ever thirsty economy. This contract was negotiated primarily by higher ups within NT Centcomm, but is managed and maintained by the current sector command of Appalia, Vivian Olsson. Currently, stakes are high within the sector, as the shadowy group Celtek is paying The Syndicate exorbitant sums of money to attempt to sabotage the O.M.U. Accord at any cost. Their motives are unknown, other than the rumor that NT and Celtek recently fought a vicious war in the neighboring Regalis sector, which resulted in the total destruction of the entire region of space. As stands, any major political upset or false flag could cause a collapse in the status quo, and startle either the Appalia Navy or Nanotrasen Navy Into taking a first shot that might spark a war that would result in the annihilation of the entire Appalia sector.
