Antagonists (antag for short) are one of the primary driving forces for each shift. Their job is to cause chaos, conflict, and prevent the crew from getting too comfortable in their space station disaster simulator.

Antag Tokens

Each survived shift, you are rewarded a number of eggs, a currency that lasts between shifts. Antagonist tokens can be purchased with these eggs and allow you to have an admin turn you into a specific antagonist.

Types of Antagonists

Antagonists have several different unofficial "types," developed from similarities and common gameplay elements to each of them. These categories do have some overlap and can change depending on loadouts selected, and methods used.

Conversion

These types of antagonists have the ability to "recruit" crew members, or otherwise turn them into the same type of antagonist. Sometimes this is made harder by mindshields. Examples of this are, cosmic cultists turning people into more cultists, head revolutionaries turning people into revolutionaries, or zombies biting people to infect them with the zombie virus.

Midround

An antagonist that spawns in the middle of the round. Usually they are less of a station ending threat than antagonists that spawn at the beginning of the round. These are sometimes also ghostroles.

Ghostrole

Requires a dead or observing player to opt-in to the raffle for it, giving them a second chance at life. Such as Bingles, Tarantulas, or LoneOp

Crew antagonists

Antagonists who are members of the crew, such as traitors, SELF agents, or thieves. This provides them with space law protections and prevents most silicons from harming them.

Loud

Loud antagonists don't have much choice but to engage in combat. You can, of course, still get the jump on people and surprise them. Examples of this are the slaughter demon, Space dragon, or blob

Stealth

Antagonists with somewhat limited combat ability who thrive on staying hidden. This does not mean they are useless in combat, but they ideally avoid it. Examples of this are Thieves and Ninjas.

Round/Normal

The round and normal designation refers to how expensive the token is to become them. For example, nukie squads or wizards are very strong antagonists who shape the whole round around them, and require more eggs than a thief or traitor who are much less impactful.
